Every week I go to this really cool store by my house that sells only Japanese food and Japanese stuff. It's a very yummy place Today, I got some cool stuff. The coolest of which is.......... DUN DUN DUN.... The new GREEN TEA POCKY!!!!! /me has Green Tea Pocky and Luna doesn't nyanya nya Also got me some inari sushi (the best kind out there, has no raw fish so don't be scared to try it!), green tea cookies (aka addiction cookies), chocolate chip bread type stuff, some anpan, pocari sweat, green tea (I like it yay), gyoza, ramen, shumai, kimchi, and um I forget the rest. If you guys got Japanese type stores near you, I recommend you go, there is much happiness to be found there

A store like that just opened up nearby my house. I went there and they had cool Japanese stuff. They also had Green Tea pocky too! But I didn't have any money . I am going back on Tuesday with money! Any suggestions on what I should get. They have lots of stuff. They even have manga there. No Mother stuff though, I looked.[This message has been edited by NessInHeaven (edited March 04, 2002).]

I have a neat Japanese store near me. I could get a Japanese toothbrush if I so desired. I'm always afraid to go in though, because everything's written in Japanese, and I don't know that much Japanese yet, so it makes me nervous.

hey Tomato, a quick question for you. is kimchi japanese in origin or korean? the reason i ask is my sister-inlaw was (passed away now) korean and used to make kimchi. i really loved it a lot, don't know if it's the same stuff because the way to make it originaly was to bury it in the ground. basically rotten cabbage, wasn't trying to gross anyone out, but i remember being told that.any way let me know so i can find a japanese store so i can buy some!! Thanks Goldy

Korean. You gotta remember the Japanese often "borrow" things from other cultures and embrace it so much it starts to look like part of their own.[This message has been edited by Tomato (edited March 04, 2002).]

I have a Japanese type store sorta nearby. It smells like squid though >_< It's where I go get my Pocky, and *yum* Botan Rice Candy. The owner is nice. He gives me free boxes of Pocky sometimes. Must try throat-burning Sake sometime...

last night was my friend from thailand Birthday. he got a little tipsy and around 1:00 am started walking into other peopels dorm rooms telling them matter of factly that he was 20. the moral of the story. somethings are cross cultural such a acting retarded after to much to drink.EDIT: theres nothing funnier at 12:00 am than watching someone burst into someone elses room who is asleep and just happens to have a Dr Pepper layin on there bed and in Broken english hearing "HEY YOU... WHAT IS UP WITH THAT DR PEPPER!!!" [This message has been edited by Frieza (edited March 05, 2002).]

Only? None of the stores by me sell any Pocky! You have an infinite times more pocky than I do! Consider yourself lucky. You could be Pocky-deprived like me. Bring me the ranch dressing hose!

It's originally Chinese but like I said before, the Japanese have a way of importing stuff and making it a part of their own culture.

Green tea Pocky.... (drools)I must have it! I have to remember to check the Cherry Hill Mall's Hall of Heroes. Got my first box of (chocolate) Pocky there, and I know they had other flavors... Then again, I must also find a way to get more money.

I wonder if my local grocery has Pocky... It's doubtful, as they're pretty standard and boring. But what if they do...

I just went and got me a digital camera so i decided that I should run around takeing pictures of what i normally do in BakersField. So let us start First I went to Barns&noble where i found among many pretty women. BOOKS Oh and some weird stuff too. take a look. we left B&N and went to the asian market. we passed the ACTION CARPET place. So after much fun makeing and merryment we went along to the asia market. where wonders are abound. First thing we saw was Hotties. comeing out of the food gettin place. Then we went inside the market. Here we found many wonderous items. such as the following. And by FAR the coolest food ever in existance KUNG FU NOODLES. These things kicked my arse. And this was my fun day in BK with my $45.00 digital camera. [This message has been edited by Frieza (edited March 16, 2002).]

Bubble Monkey consider yourself lucky. If I want anything Japanese I have to travel an hour (longer during tourist laden summer, I live in maine)just to get to Portland so I can get to a decent Japanese restuarant. Why do I have to live in a little nowhere town!Edit: Now that the almighty pictures of Frieza have loaded I would have to agree with cromkayer, LOL

I went to the mall yesterday with $30, and returned with $5. The other $25 was entirely spent in the Hall of Heroes, and got me:1. A Yu-Gi-Oh starter deck (My collection of intense hatred has begun!) 2. A box of chocolate Pocky (Huzzah) 3. A wobbly-head Mr. T (NO HOME SHOULD BE WITHOUT ONE. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ONE HANDY, AND KEEP AN EXTRA IN YOUR FIRST-AID KIT) I may not have found any Green Tea Pocky, but the Wobbly-Head Mr. T more than makes up for it.
