A few hours earlier I made a huge breakthrough in Famicom Detective Club 2 I finally was able to locate all the many tiny blocks of text throughout the ROM, so I can now dump it, translate it, then put the English text back in.

Still got a few bugs in the dumper but things are looking really good. Might be able to have a patch out sooner than I expected. Will have to wait and see though.

So, in other words, Ayumi might be coming to life soon!

Got VWF back from cool hacker guy :) The font he had is kinda ugly but I'm too lazy to put the EB font in right now. But you guys can at least see what I've been talking about when I say variable width font stuff.

In the first VWF pic there's a semi-bug that I need to figure out or something. Dunno why the T is so far over like that. Looks mighty ugly. And again, don't worry, I'm putting the EB font in so it won't look as crappy as it does now :)

I can live with the font right now. It's so, well noir, and by what little of what I've seen of it, it fits. Heh, always an EB reference in your work...

Put in a secret Mr. Saturn section and use the Mr. Saturn font with all the extra space used by katakana and kanji.

Actually I need more space on the screen, so I need a smaller font. So that's why I'm going with EB's font, plus it's a Nintendo game, plus they're both the same bpp I think.

EDIT: Finally got the new font in, here's how it looks so far. And don't forget: The world is eng!

*sniff* Need patch now! I was playing the rom earlier today, but the fact that I can only read katakana didn't help.

Now, two questions for MISTAR MATO MAN!

1. So, do you play as Ayumi in the game? As far as I could tell in what little I played, you were the one guy in the restaurant in the beginning.

2. Is the first Detective Club also for the Super Famicom?

Nope, you don't get to play as Ayumi. And no Part I isn't for Super Famicom. There's kind of a sequel that was made for that Sattelaview thing that let you download games onto your SNES, but nobody knows how they work exactly so emulators can't play it right yet.

You're all stupid Engs!

I read somewhere that the satilite thing downloads it as you go, so there is no way to get 100% of the ROM. It has to run on console, so those ROMs must have some kind of compatibility with ZSNES. :p

The BS Detective Club ROM is split into 3 parts. People haven't figured out the memory map of the BS system so it's pretty hard to emulate stuff. There have been some hacks made for things like BS Zelda, but most of the other games remain unplayable.
