Chapter 2 The Legend We Dreamed Of
In this chapter you get to learn more about Sauzer and Palpaleos. You also
get to walk around the ship freely for the first time, buy stuff, and feed
dragons. This chapter also introduces the dragonkeeper, who teaches you
the basics of dragon raising. The game's difficulty also starts to pick
up significantly at this point.
|
The first thing you should do once you can move around is leave the bridge and
go check out the ship. Make sure to talk to the shopkeepers too. The equipment
shop people don't sell anything you need, so buy a bunch of potions from the
item shop guy. Make sure to save a lot of money, you'll be coming back here
in a few minutes.
|
Go back to the bridge now, and stand in front of Rush. Wait for Matelite to
show up and give his speech.
|
After a bunch of talk, he'll give you a little test. Don't worry if you mess up.
Even if you get them all right, he'll end up tricking you anyway, so you'll
always end in failure. There's no way around this.
|
Next is Taicho's explanation about Formation. If this is your first time playing
the game, you absolutely must listen to what he says. You can change you formation
in the pre-scenario screens only. You really should change your formations
too. You can get through the game without changing any of your parties around,
but it'll make the game pretty hard. Try experimenting. You can get some awesome
results with some combinations of people.
|
Once you can move around again, go talk to Frederica. If you take her medicine,
you'll get 5 HP restoring potions, 5 status restoring potions, and 5 MP restoring potions.
All for free!
|
Go talk to the Dragonkeeper now, and follow him outside. You can jump off from
the bridge or you can take the long way there if you want. He'll teach you
about how to raise dragons. He says a lot, so I won't go over it here, but
pay attention to what he says. The dragons play a much more important role
than you might think at first. The stronger your dragons are the stronger
your parties are, so powerful dragons are a must, especially near the end
of the game.
|
After all his talking, the Dragonkeeper will give you another dragon! Give it
a name.
|
Now you should start feeding your dragons a bunch of stuff. Make sure to
feed them stuff that raises their stats. And if you have any money left,
go to the different shops and buy stuff to feed them. Feed as much as you
can, then go back to the bridge and talk to Sendak.
|
After you talk to Sendak, he'll walk off screen. It's hard to tell exactly
where he goes, so I'm sure that there will be at least some people who will
wonder where he went. There's actually a room you can enter from the very
bottom center of the bridge. Right below where Byuu is standing in this image.
Walk into that doorway and you'll be in the captain's room. Talk to Sendak,
then go talk to Hornet to get the next Scenario started.
|
This battle is quite harder than the previous two. Not only are there a lot
more enemies, but they're all a lot harder too. Some of your dragons will
most likely be in danger of dying during this battle, so make sure to call them
back and heal them using magic when their HP starts to drop to low levels. You
need to keep your dragons alive if you want them to level up and get stronger.
If you can, defeat all the enemies you can. You still need to get as much
money, items, and experience as you can get at this point. If things start
to get too hard, or if you're just speeding through the game, you only need
to defeat the boss to finish this scenario.
